Terms of Service — Next Step Scout (NSS)
Effective date: 2026-09-13
These Terms govern use of the NSS website and platform, operated by Leonardas Dauksevicius (place of establishment: Portugal) ("NSS", "we"). NSS is a service for footballers aged 10 and over in the countries of the European Economic Area and in the United Kingdom, and for verified clubs, academies and scouts.
1. Who may use NSS, and the role of parents
- Players must be at least 10 years old; there is no upper age limit. Until 18, registration is made and confirmed by a parent or legal representative; from 18, a player acts independently.
- The age of digital consent under GDPR Art. 8 (13–16, each country sets its own; 13 in the United Kingdom) does not weaken our rules: on NSS, consent for any player under 18 is in any case given by a parent/legal representative.
- A minor cannot, by themselves, enter into a binding contract. Across the EEA and the United Kingdom, a contract with a minor generally requires the consent/ratification of a parent or legal guardian. Accordingly:
- A player may register, but registration by a user under 18 creates no binding contractual obligations until a parent/guardian confirms. - A profile stays inactive (not published, no adult contact) until the parent/guardian has confirmed.
- By confirming, the parent/guardian agrees to these Terms on behalf of the child and for themselves.
2. What NSS does
NSS lets a player keep a private video profile and progress history and, only if the player opts in and a parent confirms, lets verified clubs/academies/scouts discover that player. Profiles are closed by default.
3. Rules of use (child-safety first)
- No private adult-to-child messaging. Contact happens only through a parent/guardian or a verified academy; contact attempts are logged.
- Only content you have the right to upload. Do not upload content that harms, identifies, or endangers a child.
- No harassment, grooming, impersonation, or misuse of another person's data. We moderate the whole platform, with particular attention to minors, and act on safety reports immediately.
- Clubs, academies and scouts get access only after manual verification by NSS and must use the platform solely to discover players who have opted in.
4. Consents you give
Using NSS involves separate consents: (a) to process personal data (see Privacy Policy), and (b) a separate explicit consent to display a player's image/video — GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and, where applicable, Art. 9(2)(a); for users under 18 it is given by the parent/legal representative (national image-rights norms are listed on the Legal Bases page). You can withdraw any consent at any time.
5. Your content
You keep your rights in the content you upload. You grant NSS a limited licence to store and display it only as needed to provide the service and only within the visibility you and your parent have chosen. We do not sell your content and do not use it to train AI models.
6. Suspension and safety action
We may suspend or remove any account or content that threatens a child's safety or breaks these Terms. Where a child's safety is involved, we act without delay.
7. Ending your use
You (or a parent/guardian) may stop using NSS at any time and delete the account. Withdrawal of display consent immediately removes the profile from any listing.
8. Liability and changes
NSS is provided as-is during this early stage. Nothing here limits rights you have under the mandatory consumer or data-protection law of the country where you habitually reside (EEA or the United Kingdom). We may update these Terms; material changes affecting children or parents will be communicated clearly.
9. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the law of the user's country of habitual residence to the extent required by mandatory local law. Questions: [email protected].
